Tight Lines For Healthy Minds

Our objectives:

  • To incorporate a range of fishing methods that encourage activity amongst the inactive, those recovering from illness and older age groups who may not participate in other sports.
  • To incorporate the therapeutic engagement that angling brings with nature and the great outdoors. In turn, this brings people into contact with ‘blue-green spaces’, and consequently helps maintain positive mental health, provides stress relief and can support programmes for people experiencing mental illness.
  • To provide a rich social world that facilitates the relationship building, connection and participation in social life essential to securing well-being and active ageing by bringing people together in a safe environment.

Tackling Minds is an entirely voluntary non-profit organisation that is funded by public donations and the support of the wider angling trade. We are always on the lookout for volunteers to assist with our sessions and appreciate any assistance – if you’re a Level 2 Angling Coach, a vehicle owner / driver that can help transport equipment or really good at making the tea (or even all three!!) with a bit of spare time on your hands and a passion for helping others, we’d love to hear from you!!

If you’d like to put yourself forward for volunteering in any capacity, please complete the confidential form below and one of our experienced team will be in touch to discuss options. All information gathered by Tackling Minds is private and confidential and we never store details without express permission.
